Red Means “Go”!
We use the phrase "nerve in numbers" to describe the courage and freedom which naturally flow from belonging to the Red Hat Society. For some of us, merely putting on the colors is liberating. For others, being part of our disorganization enables them to make major life changes and try new things that they never would have thought to try before. Our hats are off to the women featured here, for they have given us all something to cheer about!

Keep on Keeping On
Mary Jo Dangel (Baroness Bewitched) and her husband lost an adult son in 2001 and a second adult son, this spring - both to cystic fibrosis. Mary Jo's chapter (Purple Peacocks, Cheviot, Ohio) wore red and purple to his funeral in April. Mary Jo says, "My membership in the RHS helped me more than anything to get through Tim's death and I expect it to give me a reason to enjoy life and keep laughing again." Bolstered by her youngest sister, Mary Jo attended "Gateway to Glitz," in St. Louis, earlier this month.
